A Voice crying Out in the Wilderness (VOW)
A voice of one is calling out, “Clear the way for the Lord in the wilderness, remove the obstacles; Make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God.
Isaiah 40:3
Is He the single most important thing in your life?
Yeshua told us the greatest commandment was "Love the Lord your God with all your Heart, Soul and Strength" (Matthew 22). Jeremiah revealed from The Lord that the heart is deceitful above all things (Jeremiah 17) which means we cannot define Love, therefore we must go to the Torah and Prophets for the map to begin Loving God properly, and once matured and disciplined in that Love, able to actually walk out the same level of sacrificial Love Yeshua revealed to us.
Are you imitating His definition of Love?
Yeshua equated the Commandment to Love one's neighbor as synonymous with Loving the Lord God (Matthew 22), however it still was expressed second to Loving God. Why is this? Because we are unable to Love in it's truest definition unless we have given Him absolutely everything, and foresaken all else in this life. Only then can the ability to Love Others be poured into us in the Spirit and walked out in it's fullest expression which is defined in the Torah and Prophets and revealed in its "fullest" expression by Messiahs works. (Matthew 5)
Are you clear on the Terms of His Covenant?
A Mixed Multitude entered into Covenant at Sinai and the terms of the Covenant were obedience to the commandments in order to be His treasured possession.
(Exodus 19)
Paul confirms that a new covenant does not set aside the covenant previously established by God. (Galatians 3)
Our Messiah Yeshua made it very clear that we should not even think that He came to abolish the Torah, and that anyone who relaxes or teaches even the least of these commandments will be least in the kingdom. (Matthew 5)
The author of Hebrews makes it clear and reaffirms Numbers 15 stating that there is no longer a sacrifice of atonement for willful, deliberate sin. (Hebrews 10)
Are you walking in Holiness?
To walk in Holiness is the opposite of walking in Lawlessness. John tells us that Sin is a transgression of the Torah and that it is Lawlessness (1John3). Yeshua warned that many will come to Him that have professed His name and He will send them away because they are workers of lawlessness (Matthew 7). James and the Jerusalem council decreed that gentiles coming into the faith were required to first turn from four initial sins, these sins desecrate the body (the temple) inhibiting the Holy Spirit to dwell within us. This was critical in order for new believers to "hear Moses preached every Sabbath" in order for them to learn what it meant to walk in Covenantal Holiness.
(Acts 15)
Are you following His Commandments?
Yeshua said, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." (John 14)
Peter writes, "As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance." (1 Peter 1)
Peter and the apostles affirmed, “We must obey God rather than men."
(Acts 5)
John encourages, "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome." (1 John 5) Paul exhorts, "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!" (Romans 6) and that "So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good." (Romans 7)
John was explicit and clear stating "By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked." (1 John 2)
Have you shed your identity?
In the book of Ruth we see that in order for one to join themselves to God's covenant community, we must strip ourselves of our identity, of our nationality.
We must make His people Our people and their God Our God. (Ruth 1) and Paul explains that there is no longer Jew (Yehudim) or Greek (Gentile) but one New Man (Israel) in Messiah (Galatians 3). There are not two paths, there are not two tables. Gentiles, you must lose your gentile identity and as adopted sons, as grafted in branches, join ourselves to the Vine. This includes all covenantal responsibilities with our Faith in Yeshua.
